Love. What is it really?
Webster's dictionary defines love as a:
: strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties or; :an unselfish, loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another
In the Bible, love is described as this:
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends.-1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love can be the simplest thing to do at times and the most hardest thing you've ever had to do. Perhaps it is too powerful and mysterious to be completely defined or figured out by any of us.
I referenced this tutorial from Hertoolbelt.com as a guide to build these letters and with a few measurement/style adjustments, countless YouTube videos on how to use certain power tools, here are the letters from start to finish!
And follow this link to view the letters and me in action!
(1) sheet of 4' x 8' 1/2" sanded plywood
(1) sheet of 4' x 8" 1/4" sanded plywood
(5) sets of Clear globe lights
table saw, jigsaw, miter saw, drill w/ hole bit, brad nail gun, clamps
Letters cut out with a jigsaw
Glueing, nailing, and clamping the sides on
The finished measurements for the letters were approximately 36 inches wide by 40 inches tall. Holes were drilled with a 7/8" hole bit where the lights will be inserted.
The LOVE letters were all primed and painted with Valspar Exterior Paint in Bright Red, Island Orange, Luscious Green, and Deep Space. The sockets for the lights were inserted through the holes from the back of each letter and each bulb was then screwed in from the front and that pretty much locks them in place.
That's all folks! Take care of yourself and others; spread love where you can and see y'all in 2021!!
